नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः । न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः ॥
Translation
Weapons cannot cut it, fire cannot burn it, water cannot wet it, and wind cannot dry it.
Explanation
In a poem about an actual war, this verse insists that whatever is most essentially you is not the kind of thing a weapon could reach in the first place. It's a striking claim to sit with even metaphorically: how much of your daily anxiety is really about protecting something that was never actually vulnerable to begin with?
