Chapter 6, Verse 35

असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम् । अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते ॥

Translation

The mind is indeed restless and hard to restrain — but it is brought under control through practice and detachment.

Explanation

Krishna doesn't argue with Arjuna's complaint that the mind is nearly impossible to control; he agrees with it outright, then offers two tools anyway: repeated practice and a loosened grip on outcomes. It's a realistic promise, not an easy one — control comes gradually, through both.
