Chapter 2, Verse 70

आपूर्यमाणमचलप्रतिष्ठं समुद्रमापः प्रविशन्ति यद्वत् । तद्वत्कामा यं प्रविशन्ति सर्वे स शान्तिमाप्नोति न कामकामी ॥

Translation

As rivers flow into the ocean without disturbing its steadiness, so desires enter one who has attained peace — not one who chases after desires.

Explanation

The ocean doesn't reject the rivers flowing into it, and it isn't overwhelmed by them either — it simply has enough depth to absorb them without losing its own shape. That's a workable image for handling a day full of competing wants and demands without being knocked off balance by any single one.
