Chapter 6, Verse 41

प्राप्य पुण्यकृतां लोकानुषित्वा शाश्वतीः समाः । शुचीनां श्रीमतां गेहे योगभ्रष्टोऽभिजायते ॥

Translation

One who has strayed from the path of practice is, after a time in the realms of the virtuous, born into a home of the pure and prosperous.

Explanation

Arjuna had just asked a very human question — what happens to effort that doesn't reach its goal? Krishna's answer is reassuring: nothing sincere is entirely lost, even if the specific attempt doesn't finish as planned. That's worth remembering the next time a genuine effort at growth gets interrupted.

Reflect

What sincere effort did you abandon partway through that might still be worth more credit than you're giving it?
