Chapter 9, Verse 26

पत्रं पुष्पं फलं तोयं यो मे भक्त्या प्रयच्छति । तदहं भक्त्युपहृतमश्नामि प्रयतात्मनः ॥

Translation

Whoever offers me a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or even water with devotion, I accept that offering made with a pure heart.

Explanation

None of the items listed are expensive or elaborate — a leaf, a flower, water. The verse quietly argues against the idea that meaningful devotion requires grand gestures; sincerity, not scale, is what's actually being asked for.

Reflect

What small, sincere gesture today mattered more than its modest size would suggest?
